Collaborative Awareness
On exhibit at the Central Library, July 2014
Elementary Art students at Saint Ann Catholic School in Arlington were inspired this year to bring awareness to endangered animals through these colorful murals.
After learning about many of the beautiful animals on the endangered species list, each class chose an animal, and each student painted one square. Then the pieces were put together, and the class worked collaboratively to pain final brushstrokes to connect them all.
Kindergarten: Yellow Crested Cockatoo and Macaw
First Grade: Blue Whale
Second Grade: Grevy’s Zebra and Jaguar
The students also sold postcards of their paintings to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund.
