An Author Talk on Local History

Charles S. Clark’s discusses the presence of the American Nazi Party in Arlington from 1958-1983, including their publicity-seeking, their protests, resistance among citizens and the assassination of George Lincoln Rockwell in August 1967.

Clark is a longtime contributor to Arlington magazine and the Arlington Historical Magazine. He also writes the weekly “Our Man in Arlington” column for the Falls Church News-Press. He joined Government Executive magazine in the fall of 2009. He has been on staff at The Washington Post, Congressional Quarterly, National Journal, Time-Life Books, Tax Analysts, the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges, and the National Center on Education and the Economy.

WalkArlington has produced a self-guided Walkabout map of the Dominion Hills neighborhood, site of one of Rockwell’s headquarters and assassination. The map is also available in Spanish and there is also video footage available online.

Presented in partnership with Encore Learning.
