Hear Croatian Ambassador to the United States Joško Paro discuss his nation’s unique role in Europe as a cultural crossroads between East and West.
On behalf of the U.S Department of State, Arlington Public Library has hosted Croatian information professionals in an exchange that led to a speaking tour by Director Diane Kresh, who visited several library sites in Croatia. The Arlington collection now features a wide-reaching selection of books on Croatian art, literature, business and language.
Ambassador Paro joined the diplomatic service in 1992. He’s served as ambassador to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, assistant minister of Foreign Affairs and played a key role in normalizing relations with Croatia’s neighbors following the post-Yugoslavian conflict.
Croatian musicians Miroslav Loncar and Tom Vesolich will perform following the ambassador’s remarks and there will be an array of Croatian refreshments for all.
