      The weekly matinee on Thursdays takes a look in September at time-themed films.

    8. Tech Class: eBooks and eReaders–Westover
      3:30 pm – 4:30 pm

      Get the latest on free Library downloads and how to read them.

      Learn about your Library’s eBook collection, your eAccount and walk through the process of downloading eBooks to your mobile device. Bring your eReader so you can get going in class.

      Class size is limited so please call 703-228-5260 or visit the Circulation Desk at Westover to register.

      Because of a scheduling conflict, this class has been moved from Sept. 25 to Sept. 18.

    9. Drop-In Storytime en español : Cuentos Para Niños –Central
      4:15 pm – 4:45 pm

      Cuentos para niños! Programa en español para todas las edades.

      Lectura de cuentos, canciones y manualidades. No se requiere registro para este programa.

      Stories for Children! is a Spanish storytime for all ages.

      The program uses a mixture of stories, songs and crafts. There is no registration required for this program. Seating is first-come, first-served until capacity is reached.

    10. Kids Read to Dogs: “Paws to Read”–Aurora Hills
      5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

      Children grades K – 5 are invited to read to therapy dogs.

      Each “Paws to Read” child is given a 15-minute session where they will be paired with a canine listener. Volunteers (both owners and dogs) are part of PAL (People. Animals. Love.), an animal therapy organization. All participating dogs are trained and certified.

      Studies have shown that reading to a dog (or other non-judgmental audience) can help improve a child’s reading level and increase their enjoyment of reading.

    11. Spanish Conversation Class–Central
      6:45 pm – 8:15 pm

      An opportunity for non-native speakers to practice Spanish in a small setting.

      A comfortable place for non-native speakers to practice English.

      No registration required. All levels encouraged to participate. Our purpose is to give people who are learning English a chance to practice speaking English.

    4. Discussion: Saturday Stock Talks–Central
      11:30 am – 1:00 pm

      Get together with others who have an interest in investments and the stock market. Exchange ideas, network. Occasional guest speakers invited. No registration required.
