Computer Class Assistant
Position Description:
The Library offers a number of basic classes to the public on using the computer, various electronic resources, and Microsoft applications. An assistant is required to walk around assist students who raises their hand or look like they have fallen behind the rest of the class.
Qualifications:
A Class Assistant should be highly knowledgeable about the class subject and able to communicate effectively. The individual must be patient and willing to encourage students in their learning.
Time Involvement:
Classes are offered in specific two-hour time slots Monday through Thursday. An Assistant must be available for the entire class as well as 15 minutes before to help with student sign-in.
CyberCenter Attendant/Coach

Position Description:
A CyberCenter Attendant assists users with applications such as Word, Excel, and email, and provides assistance using the Internet, but is not expected to provide formal instruction. Attendants are also there to assist patrons with the automated sign-in procedure and troubleshoot problems.
Qualifications:
A CyberCenter Attendant must be able to communicate effectively in English. The ability to speak a second language is a plus. Attendants must be familiar with computer hardware, software, and peripherals and be able to perform minor troubleshooting routines. A sufficient understanding of Word and the Internet is needed to be able to help users get started.
Time Involvement:
A CyberCenter Attendant must be able to be scheduled for at least one two-hour slot per week. An attendant must also be able to attend a scheduled half-hour orientation program before starting. Because coaching times are advertised to the public, it is essential that coaches be present when scheduled.
