The Nonprofit Resource Center at Central Library is part of Arlington County’s Nonprofit Assistance Network.
Reservations
Non-Profit groups can reserve the lab space in advance for general group meetings. The Library also has a computer training center available by request. Reservations can be made at the Central Library Reference Desk or by calling 703-228-5958. Study room policies and guidelines apply.
Literacy and Language Lab
The Lab at Central Library houses two public-access computers with software to help adults learn the basic skills of reading, writing, speaking and understanding English. The Literacy and Language Lab is a joint initiative of the Arlington Public Library and the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia.
Reservations
To use the lab, sign in at the Reference Desk on the second floor. To ensure maximum use by as many people as possible, there is a two hour per-day limit for each person. Tutors and students may make one reservation per day for up to three weeks in advance in person or by calling 703-228-5959. Study room policies and guidelines apply.
Available Software
Mango Languages provides audio lessons to practice reading, listening, and speaking. Easy to use audio clips and written text take you through each course. The ESL Basic and Complete Courses are available in: Inglés Para Hablantes De Español – Inglês para Brasileiros – Angielski Dla Polaków and 11 other languages.
