A Message from the Arlington County Department of Environmental Services
Arlington County’s Department of Environmental Services will begin work Wednesday, March 30, to permanently repair portions of the Central Library roof and two steel beams that suffered structural damage as a result of the heavy snowfall in 2010. Work will:
- Take place at night outside of the library’s operating hours
- Include efforts to reduce dust and noise
- Adhere to County noise restrictions
Construction is slated for completion by the end of April 2011. Temporary Shelving Relocation During the construction period, patrons will notice that some library shelving on the second floor has been relocated. While the interior portions of the library affected by the work will be temporarily closed off to the public for safety reasons, library services are not expected to be impacted or restricted by the work. For assistance locating materials, please ask a library staff member or volunteer. Questions? For questions about the construction and repairs, contact Brent Stagnaro, DES Construction Management Specialist at bstagnaro@arlingtonva.us.
