The Columbia Pike Branch Library is looking for a volunteer to provide a welcoming presence on Columbia Pike’s second floor.
This person will greet and welcome Library users, direct them to the appropriate staff members, as well as assist them in locating Library materials and in using their online accounts. The volunteer must have an interest in and ability to provide excellent customer service and excellent communications skills. The ability to communicate effectively in English is important, and fluency in a second language is a plus.
Other volunteer tasks will include answering the telephone and transferring the calls to the appropriate people, and the ability to work comfortably in a Windows PC environment. Shelving books, walking the floor, asking patrons if they need help, and ensuring that the second floor remains neat and inviting are also part of the job responsibilities.
Volunteers shifts are generally four hours long, and are available for weekdays and weekends. Orientation and training will be provided and are required.
