Rescued! Portraits of Homeless Animals
On exhibit at the Westover Branch Library, August and September 2012.
While volunteering with the Homeless Animal Rescue Team, Julie Hart found a way to give homeless animals a voice. Her oil paintings capture the heart and soul of animals who have suffered through abuse and abandonment:
Julie says, ” I find great artistic interest in painting the way light hits a moist nose, fur glistens with a rainbow of colors, and sky reflects in a dog’s eyes. I want my paintings to be more than a photograph can be, emotionally and artistically.” Julie works on commission, and donates a portion of her sales to animal rescue organizations.

I love Julie Hart’s work. I’ve seen it at the Workhouse in Lorton as well as various other shows/venues around town. Can’t wait to stop in to see her latest!
