Abstracted Portraits in Motion
On exhibit on the Art on the ART Bus through August 2013
Amy Hughes Braden is an Arlington native and Corcoran graduate who works as a painter and art teacher in the DC area.
Her work utilizes portraiture to investigate a wide variety of issues, from family dynamics to the control of mass media in daily life. For the ART ON THE ART BUS, Braden has created further explorations in portraiture.
Her show Demographic/Sampling will be in the Mezz Gallery at Artisphere May 15th-August 3, and focuses on portraits of pre-teens and the experiences of youth transitioning to adulthood.
ART ON THE ART BUS is a mobile gallery, created and curated by Artipshere’s Visual Arts Curator Cynthia Connolly, which shows original art on an Arlington Rapid Transit—or ART—public bus, cultivating a vibrant arts experience for transit riders in the area. Two ART Buses are in permanent rotation throughout the different routes available to ART Bus passengers.
The ART ON THE ART BUS program is supported in part by Arlington Transit.
