Brown Strokes on a White Canvas, Part 2
On exhibit at the Shirlington Branch Library, December 2013 and January 2014.
Julian is the founder of the annual travelling art exhibit “Brown Strokes on a White Canvas,” which features Filipino-American artists from around the world. The show is sponsored by (PAFC) the Philippine American Foundation for Charities, and is now on its 10th year. He is the inventor of “Dyslexart“, an interactive art style which he created as a result of his Dyslexia.
Victor Oteyza is Julian’s father, and one of the founders of modern art in the Philippines. He and 12 other artists started the movement in the 50’s. They eventually came to be known as the 13 moderns.
Julian will be hanging different works of his father throughout the month to allow the art lovers to enjoy the rarely seen creations.
