The workshop is limited to 20 participants.
Last year the Library hosted a popular series of comedy workshops, led by librarian and stand up comic, Kerby Valladares.
He introduced participants to local comedians, and produced a showcase at the end of the workshop, at which students and the guest comedians performed together in a great show.
This March, Mr. Valladares leads an advanced class for those who are ready to get up on stage. He says,
“This class will be different in that the participants will work together to workshop their routine. Many first time participants are not ready to go up on stage, while others are ready but find that they’re more motivated when the class does an open mic together. So I decided to dedicate a new workshop to those who want to perform with other participants and to workshop each other’s set each week.
I think once you’ve accomplished going up on stage for the first time, you either continue going up – or you stop. So I want to give the people who want to keep getting up on stage the chance to work together, to push and help each other by building their comedic routines together. I’m very excited to see how this turns out!”
Comedy 2.0 starts on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Plaza Branch Library in Courthouse, and continues through March.
