Dear Members of the Arlington Public Library Community:
The County Manager released his proposed budget on Saturday, February 20 and we want to make sure our Library patrons are well-informed on proposed changes to some Library fines.
It is proposed that the daily fine for overdue items be increased from $0.20 to $0.30 per day for juvenile/young adult (YA) materials, remain the same for adult materials ($0.30 per day), and decrease from $1.00 to $0.30 per day for all DVDs. View the full document advertising the fine changes, with additional information.
The Libraries budget work session, where the proposed fine changes and other items will be discussed in detail, will be held on Wednesday, March 16, at 6:00 p.m.
There will be two opportunities for public comment on fees and budget issues:
- Tuesday, March 29, at 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday, March 31, at 7:00 p.m.
All hearings and work sessions will be held in the County Board Room, which is located at 2100 Clarendon Blvd, 3rd Floor, 22201. There is also an online form available for you to comment on the budget.
Thank you for your time, and thank you for using the Arlington Public Library.
