I have been advised to come in and renew my membership so that I can continue to read ebooks. Can I now renew/extend my membership on-line? I am retired , do not drive, and it’s a bit difficult to appear in person? Even under normal circumstances. Thank you.
James,
I will forward your info on to the head of Circulation, to be in touch with you.
Updated – I have been informed that any library cards expiring between March 1 and May 1 now expire on June 1st.
My library card expires tomorrow. I was planning to go to a branch to renew it but now I can’t.
Kristen,

I moved to Arlington recently and planned on getting a library card. Since the libraries are closed this weekend, would it be possible to get one online so I can start accessing these resources as I practice social distancing?
Matt,
Yes! You can apply for a library card online: https://library.arlingtonva.us/services/accounts-and-borrowing/get-a-free-library-card/
Normally after getting your card online, you have 30 days to come in to the Library in person and validate your account with ID.
That time-frame may be extended under the current circumstances…
Why is my card not working?
James,
If you text or message the librarians between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. today, they hopefully can help you find out.

My Library card expired in maybe January or February. Is there a way to reactivate it online? Since it falls outside of the March window. Thank you!
Hi Carla,
Try using your card – all cards that since January 2018 have now been extended through June 1, 2020.
Hello! I was at a book festival last year and signed up for(and was given) a library card from you all.(You had a booth) but when I put in the number, it doesn’t work. Do I have to re-register? And if so..how?(Given the current cirumstances)
Hi Nikkia,
Contact the librarians Monday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. for help. If you can give them your account info, they should be able to help you. https://library.arlingtonva.us/chat-live/
Is there any way now to acquire a card in order to use the ebooks?
