Happy Earth Day Weekend 2012.
We try to make every day Earth Day at Arlington Public Library so let’s take this opportunity to plant some ideas (and fertilizer-quality puns).
The Library’s gardens are coming up and you reap the rewards:
- Gardening Talk: Starting the Spring Garden — Wednesday, April 25, 7 p.m.
- Annual Glencarlyn Plant Sale — Sunday, May 6, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Master Gardener Advice — Thursdays from April – Nov. 16, 6:45 – 8:45 p.m.
Leaf through our very green-friendly collection. Here are a few seedlings:

“Earth Days”
“Bag It”
“Green Gardening” ( part of the Living Series)

Earth-friendly things to do with your kids:
*In Every Day is Earth Day by Jane O’Connor, Fancy Nancy learns all about Earth Day but discovers that going green has some unintended consequences at home.
*Dinosaur Woods: Can Seven Clever Critters Save Their Forest Home by George McClements pits seven endangered animals against developers who want to destroy their homes. Guess who wins this one?
And don’t miss our Call for Artists for the Library’s Recycled Art Show.
