Think spring
It’s been a tough winter but here’s hoping March will be extra generous with the warmth. If you’re ready to get started on your gardening for the year, then Central Library is ready with the tools at The Shed come Wednesday, March 4 March 11 (changed in hopes the weather will be more cooperative).
Launched last fall, it’s the only library garden tool lending program in the region and an exclusive benefit for Arlington County residents.
On March 4 at Central: the first expert Garden Talk of the season. Stop by the Second Floor Meeting Room and hear all about starting seedlings indoors with grow lights.
Expert Garden Talks continue weekly on Wednesday evenings into October.
On Saturday, March 21 at Central Library Auditorium, the Library and Arlington Food Assistance Center host a spring kick-off, with plenty of garden tips, exhibits, free seeds and refreshments.
Beginning in April 16, Central hosts the Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia for their weekly Thursday night plant clinics on the first floor.
So even if your thumb is a bit wind-burned and pale, don’t worry. It’ll be green before you know it when you stop by the Library.
