We are pleased to welcome our new Branch Manager, Kimberly Knight, to Shirlington Branch Library.
Kimberly has worked in public libraries for over 12 years–from urban Los Angeles to suburban Prince William County, VA. She joined the Arlington Department of Libraries in Fall 2007 as the Youth Services Collection Development Librarian. Kimberly believes the library should be the cornerstone of the community where people, information, cultural experiences and technology meet. She is passionate about public service, youth services, equal access to information, children’s literature, and family literacy (as well as shoes). So, it’s no surprise that Kimberly feels right at home at the Shirlington Library and in the vibrant Shirlington community. She’s looking forward to the ride.

In response to Anonymous on Nov. 21 –We are hoping to update the public PCs at all the branches in early December. In the meantime, we recommend that you use a different browser (such as Firefox) to access the internet. We don't have information about updating Adobe Flash Player at the moment, but will let you know as soon as we do.

We can now confirm that Flash will also be updated. We review and update all Library PC programs every 6 months. But before we make updates system-wide, we go through a long testing period on the computers at Central. Once we're certain that new program versions are conflict-free, we then update the programs on the branch computers.
