On Tuesday the Westover Branch Library celebrated the arrival of a replica Haitian Tap Tap bus which was created by students at the Langston-Brown After School Center.
The painted buses serve as a visual reminder that reading this summer will not only help students keep their reading skills up, but it will also help children in another part of the world. There will be a total of four buses displayed around the county, the other three being at Central Library, Shirlington Branch Library, and Columbia Pike Branch Library.
For each student who completes the Get Caught Reading program this summer, the Friends of the Library will donate 50 cents to help rebuild the Petit-Goave Library in Haiti.
