The Shirlington Branch Library may be closed on Thursday, but you can still find great, free things to do in Shirlington!
This month, Thursday nights in Shirlington Village are all about the annual Shirlington Jazz Festival:
- Aug. 4 – Misturada
- Aug.11 – The Lovejoy Group
- Aug. 18 – Felicia Carter & Amy Shook
- Aug. 25 – Kevin Pace Trio
And if you can’t make it to the Jazz Festival, you can always check out our collection of online streaming jazz.
Jazz Festival performances are free, and take place from 6:30 – 8:30 in the Plaza in front of the Shirlington Branch Library. For an optional $5, adults can taste 4 delicious wines (2 whites, 2 reds) – the proceeds of which benefit our favorite gardeners, the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). Donations of non-perishable foods are also welcome.
A general warning – Campbell Avenue from Harris Teeter to Caribou Coffee will be closed to vehicle traffic from 4:00 p.m. through 9:30 p.m.
