Over the last several months, students at Patrick Henry Elementary School have been studying and discussing several books to determine which should win the coveted Caldecott Award, which recognizes the most distinguished picture book for children.
Their winner? Perfect Square by Michael Hall.
They also awarded a Caldecott Honor to Night Flight: Amelia Earhart Crosses the Atlantic by Robert Burleigh, with paintings by Wendel Minor.
The official Caldecott Award will be announced on Monday, Jan. 23, along with many other youth media awards. Stay tuned for more mock-Caldecott winners, and the actual results!
