Here are the final results from our “mock” Caldecott committees:

Randolph Elementary School selected Bone Dog by Eric Rohman for their winner.

They also picked the following honor books: Rrralph by Lois Elhert; Hooray for Amanda and Her Alligator by Mo Willems; and A Ball for Daisy by Chris Raschka.

Final Mock-Caldecott Winner vote tally:

  • Perfect Square – 1 vote
  • A Nations’s Hope: The Story of Boxing Legend Joe Lewis – 1 vote
  • Heart and Soul: The Story of America and African Americans – 1 vote
  • Blackout – 2 votes
  • Hoorah for Amanda and Her Alligator – 1 vote
  • If Rocks Could Sing – 1 vote
  • I Want My Hat Back – 1 vote
  • Bone Dog – 2 votes
  • Little White Rabbit – 1 vote

We’ll all be watching on Monday morning to see what the real Caldecott committee chooses for this very special award.  Check back tomorrow for all the details!
