See you at the Library—more often.
With hours approved by the County Board for the Fiscal Year 2013 budget, the seven Arlington Public Library branches are now open every day of the workweek, as of the first week of July:
New hours appear in gray. The schedules for Central Library and the Plaza branch did not change.
The Library greatly appreciates all the support it received from the Board and residents in making this new schedule possible.

I agree, Mardi! We’ve always forgotten about the Thursday closing and ended up disappointed. Now if we can just get that Tuesday opening time expanded too!

I used to live in Arlington; then I moved to the SF Bay Area. I just returned from a visit, and I am impressed by the Westover Branch and the increase in hours in the system. Despite previous approval of funding measures in Oakland, my neighborhood branch is stuck at 43 hours open per week. I am envious.
Jane says
Could you please update the individual libraries’ pages to reflect the changed hours? Thank you.
The Librarians says
Jane,
Our pre-power outage plan was to change the hours on the branch pages first thing Monday (tomorrow) morning. While we still plan to update them to the new regular schedule as soon as possible, the uncertain power situation throughout Arlington County may keep us from doing so tomorrow.
We appreciate your patience during this unexpected turn of events.
