On October 8, the Master Gardeners presented a workshop at the Westover Branch Library on how to attract and support desireable wildlife and increase biodiversity in your own backyard.
Master Gardeners Anne Alexander (who calls birds “jewelry in your yard”) and Christine Freidel explained how to attract more feathered friends to your garden.
Everyone left armed with a load of good information, including a handout listing birds’ favorite plants, “bird gardening” websites, bird house entry-hole size requirements, and book lists.
And if you couldn’t make it Tuesday, you can still check out the highly recommended Bringing Nature Home, by Douglas W. Tallamy.
