There are 2 ways to help: Donate Food or Pay Your Fines
Do you have a few dollars in late fees on your Library account?
For every dollar in fines paid to the Library from Nov. 2 – 9, the Friends of the Arlington Public Library will donate 10 cents to AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Center).
You can pay fines at any Library location – use your credit or debit card at the self-checkout station, or pay with cash, check or credit/debit at the Library service desk. You can also pay your fines online, from your Library account.
Don’t have any fines?
You can still help support AFAC! Bring food donations to any Library location between Nov. 2 – 9, and place them in the tall cardboard donation boxes.
In particular, AFAC needs the following items:
- Cooking oil in plastic bottles
- Small bags of flour
- Canned tuna in water
- Low sugar cereals
- Low sodium soups
- Whole wheat pasta
For 25 years, AFAC has distributed groceries, directly and free of charge, to people living in Arlington who cannot afford to purchase enough food to meet their basic needs.
The Library is proud to partner with AFAC’s Plot Against Hunger program, growing fresh produce in our gardens for the families who come to AFAC each week for supplemental groceries.
