Pop Art Inspired Tiles
On exhibit at Central Library, April – May 2014
Growing up in the White Mountains of Northern Arizona, nature provided Nathan Drake with a vast variety of inspiration. With nature as his subject, Nathan enjoys a variety of art mediums to translate his work.
“My artwork is often a portrait of nature. A texture, an animal or simply something deserving of a second look is a favorite subject for me. I pull from the Impressionism art movement for style and technique. However, I find the pop art movement inspiring when working with ceramics. Hopefully the viewer is able to pause and smile or reflex on the simple beauty of our natural world when viewing my work.”
Nathan currently lives and works as a community art instructor in Arlington, Virginia.
