Published: June 12, 2014

On Saturday, May 31, Cherrydale and other North Arlington neighborhoods celebrated the undergrounding of the utility wires along Lee Highway with the “Discover Cherrydale” festival.

Cherrydale Citizens Association President Maureen Ross and Vice Chairman of the County Board Mary Hynes kicked off the festivities with opening remarks at the Historic Cherrydale Firehouse.

The entire crew of the Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Department was on hand throughout the day to demonstrate equipment and provide photo ops on vintage fire engines. As part of the festivities, Cherrydale Branch Library held special stories and Cherrydale-realted crafts, and awarded prizes to visitors who completed the Discover Cherrydale scavenger hunt.
