The Shirlington Branch Library is expanding our program offerings for adults in their 20s and 30s with the addition of Books on Tap at Samuel Beckett’s Irish Gastropub.

6 readers met for the first time on Monday, Sept. 15 to talk about “City of Thieves” by David Benioff, a fictional account about an unlikely friendship that develops during the World War II siege of Leningrad. Discussion was lively and ranges from the development of friendships during hardships to the fact the author is one of the executive producers and writers for HBO’s popular series, Game of Thrones and how that effects his writing.

 

 

The next Books on Tap is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m., to talk about Rainbow Rowell’s “Fangirl.”
