Winter / Spring 2015 Elementary Programs

For Kindergarten – 5th Grade Kids

Winter: Jan. 4 – March 21
Spring: April 5 – May 23

In case of bad weather or school closings, the Library’s children’s programs are automatically cancelled. No programs are held on County holidays, Jan. 19 or Feb. 16.

Early Release Matinees

From books to movies. (Grades K-5)

  • Columbia Pike Branch Library: Wednesdays 2:00 p.m., Feb. 11, March 11, April 22

 

Homework Club

A kid-friendly space for elementary and middle school students to study. (Grades K-8)
Children under age 11 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Columbia Pike Branch Library: Wednesdays, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Ends May 9, 2015.

 

Kids Club

A variety of fun activities. (Grades K-5)

  • Central Library: Wednesdays, 4:15 p.m. Ends March 18.
  • Aurora Hills Branch Library: Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m. – Feb. 11, March 11, April 22
  • Shirlington Branch Library: Tuesdays, 4:00 p.m.

 

Kids in the Garden

Gardening for children – space is limited, so registration is required. (Grades K-5)

  • Westover Branch Library: 2nd Wednesday of the month, 4:30 – 5:30 – March 11, April 8, May 13

 

LEGO Club

Join other kids in designing your own Lego creations. (Grades K-5)

  • Glencarlyn Branch Library: Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m.

 

Paws to Read

Sign up for 15 minute sessions to read to therapy dogs. (Age 5-12)
Register in person or by phone at the library location.

  • Central Library: 2nd and 4th Monday of the month, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Aurora Hills Branch Library: 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Cherrydale Branch Library: 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
  • Columbia Pike Branch Library: 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Shirlington Branch Library: 2nd Wednesday of the month, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Westover Branch Library: 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
