From January to April of this year, approximately 200 people visited the Central Library to attend our free educational series on end-of-life planning.
Topics included estate planning, life insurance, hospice care, Medicare and funeral planning.
In case you missed the series, you can still watch some of the events:
- Arlington Law Group’s Ryan A. Brown, Esq., provided an introduction to estate planning for 20 and 30-somethings and parents of small children. He explained wills, trusts, medical powers of attorney, 529 college savings plan, guardianship of minor children and more.
- John Glowacky, Certified Medicare counselor with Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program of Arlington County, presented the basics of the Medicare program and the latest changes.
- Bill Fralin, Elder Law attorney and President of The Estate Planning and Elder Law Firm, P.C., discussed some financial and legal ways to develop an estate plan to protect assets.
- Retired R.N. and Past President of the Memorial Society of Virginia, Kathy Birnbaum shared what one needs to know about planning a funeral or memorial service and costs associated.
