Have You Listened to a Good Book Lately?
The Columbia Pike Branch Library’s new listening center is a special place for kids to listen to our read-along collection while here in the library.
It has 6 headphones and one cd player so kids (and parents) can listen to the same story and follow along.
Columbia Pike childrens librarian Desiree was prompted to set up the Listening Center because of numerous requests from parents and kids asking to listen to our audio materials while in the Library.
Her previous experience as a teacher also reinforced the usefulness of Listening Centers, as many kinder and prekindergarten classrooms have centers such as this to promote reading and listening skills.
Our new equipment was bought with funds from the Friends of the Arlington Public Library. Thank you!
