Submit Your Work for Consideration
The Library invites all authors to submit published work for inclusion in our general circulating collection, via the Suggest a Title form.
Decisions are guided by the Library's selection policy.
When a submission does not meet the Library's criteria for inclusion in the general circulating collection, Arlington authors of books for both adult and juvenile audiences may submit a copy of their work to the Arlington Author Program, which is housed at Central Library.
Arlington Author Program
Criteria for Consideration:
- Author or illustrator must be a resident of Arlington County.
- Book is appropriate for a public collection, and is a format suitable for circulation.
- Book is not already part of the general Library collection.
- Book is donated free of charge to the Library.
Submission to the Arlington Author Program does not guarantee inclusion in the program.
If your book is not selected, it will be donated to the Friends of the Arlington Public Library for its book sale. Proceeds from the book sale help support the Library’s programming for children and adults.
