Under 9 years | Parent/Caregiver must supervise* the child at all times |
9-10 years | May be left alone no longer than 1/2 hour if the child has no special needs such as emotional or medical problems, and if the child is comfortable with the situation. Parents must remain in the building at all times. |
11 years and older | May use the library unsupervised. |
13-15 years | May supervise* one child age 5 and up for no more than one-half hour. |
16 years and older | May supervise* children of any age. |
*Supervise means the parent or caregiver is always in the immediate vicinity of, and in visual contact with the child.
Parents and caregivers are responsible for the safety, well-being, and supervision of their child/children when using the library.
- All unaccompanied children must be able to follow the Rules of the Library on their own.
- No child under the age of 14 may be left unattended at closing time.
Please be aware of Library hours.
- If your child is left unattended at closing, the police may be contacted to provide for his or her safety and well being.
