Celebrate Halloween at the Library

We have fun holiday events for all ages this month:

• Monday, Oct. 10, 4:15 – Maker Workshops for Grades 3-6: Frankentoys
• Monday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m. – Make It Monday for Adults: Frankentoys – Registration required.
• Thursday, Oct. 13, 4 p.m. – Harry Potter Party for Kids and Teens
• Tuesday, Oct. 18, 7 p.m. – Crafter Party for Adults: Creepy Mannequins – Registration required.
• Wednesday, Oct. 26, 4 p.m. – Family Fun: Halloween Craft
• Wednesday, Oct. 26, 6 p.m. – Haunted Poe Garden
• Thursday, Oct. 27, 4 p.m. – Teen Halloween Craft
• Thursday, Oct. 27, 7:30 p.m. – Night of Horror! – For very brave teens and adults; registration required.
• Friday, Oct. 28, 10:15 a.m. – Preschool Halloween Storytime

 

All Work To Be Done After Hours

Starting Thursday, Oct. 13, the Columbia Pike Branch Library interior will be repainted. 

All painting will take place while the library is closed, and the work will not affect library hours or programming.

Potential impact on Library visitors:

• Some shelves and furniture will need to be relocated during the painting process.
• There may be residual paint odor during open hours.

You also raised $5529 for the Library of Petit-Goave, Haiti. The money will be donated by the Friends of the Arlington Public Library, who pledged $1 for every person who finished the Bronze level of Summer Reading.

Saturday, Sept. 10 is the last day to pick up your prizes.

• Keep logging your Summer Reading books until September 10.
• Winners of the teen and adult raffles will be notified after Sept. 10.
• Please note: Chipotle meal card vouchers are good until Sept. 15.
