Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies at Central Library

Does your child struggle with confidence when it comes to reading?

Reading Buddies pairs your 1st-3rd grade child with a trained teen volunteer to encourage a love of reading.

During weekly sessions, Buddies will read books, play fun literacy-based games together and bond over the power of stories. Reading Buddies is not a tutoring service.

Space is limited and your participation in the program is not guaranteed until all applications have been reviewed and we have been able to match your child with a Teen Buddy volunteer.

Reading Buddy programs take place at Central Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 7 through 30, 2026, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Summer 2026 applications are due May 30, 2026.
