Miriam's work explores the meditative nature of the creative process, embracing artmaking as both a contemplative practice and a means of deepening her connection to the world around her. Rather than focusing solely on the finished object, she views the act of making as an immersive experience through which emotion, intuition, and presence become tangible.
Working primarily with clean, discarded materials that have outlived their intended purpose, Miriam transforms the overlooked into intricate organic forms inspired by nature. Through careful repetition and labor-intensive construction, these remnants are reimagined as objects of beauty, inviting viewers to reconsider notions of value, waste, and renewal.
The tension between discarded materials and the natural world lies at the heart of her practice. By juxtaposing what society deems refuse with forms that evoke growth, resilience, and life, Miriam challenges conventional perceptions of both beauty and permanence.
