Pen and Ink
On exhibit at Central Library, August – September 2017
Artist Statement:
I loved drawing at a very young age and in the sixth grade was so proud when one of my drawings was selected for display at Parent’s Night. I drew every chance I had and after I married with two children decided to take professional instructions while living in Newport, RI. I was introduced to different media, oil was my choice, it was a struggle but I learned a lot. Have used other media but always come back to my first love – Oil.
I have an AA in Fine Arts from San Diego Community college, have taken studio classes in Coronado, CA and other places. I started selling my art in the California area, sold around 75 paintings and donated two to the Naval Hospital in San Diego. While in Naples, Italy I met a local artist and was invited to go to the country side for a day of pleine aire painting. I loved it! Upon returning to the US I realized that I needed to hone my skills so I enrolled in art classes at NOVA.
Where do I paint now? Home.
