Natural Landscape
On exhibit at Central Library, September 2017
Artist Statement:
Painting is an outlet to explore personal feelings and give expression to our experiences. Some of the elements involved in my art are nostalgia, wonder, and awe, which are symbolized through the effects of light, texture, and vibrant colors.
In my paintings you will see reflected the different places where I have lived or places I have traveled, places that had a positive impact on me and stayed with me. You will find images that will take you to Argentina, Canada and the States showing agricultural farmland and the 4 different seasons especially winter and fall. Also, you will see some tropical influence from Costa Rica or Dominican Republic where I lived for years and where I decided to start painting inspired by its beauty.
My passion is about the natural landscape that surrounds us; the importance of light and shadows and how they interact to influence our emotions. I like to use strong colors that remind us permanently that life is beautiful.
