Published: September 10, 2019

$6,553 Raised for Children's Advocacy Center

Graphic in the shape of a baseball field, showing the Summer Reading statistics reflected in the blog post.

We had another great summer of reading!

23% more readers complete Summer Reading in 2019 than in 2018!

Through your reading, combined with the generosity of the Friends of the Arlington Public Library, you raised $6,553 to provide books for the Arlington County Children's Advocacy Center, which promotes the safety and well-being of children in Arlington County.

More 2019 numbers:

  • Readers used the Library app to log their reading time: 2,581
  • Participants attended summer reading events: 5,000
  • Tickets redeemed to Washington Nationals games: 5,766

Thanks to the Friends of the Arlington Public Library and the Washington Nationals for making Summer Rreading 2019 such a great success.
