How can I find my library card number?

Published: March 26, 2020

Find your library card number if you know your username and password:

  • Option 1 – Download the Library App and add your account using your username and password. The App provides a digital Library card with your card number, which can be used to check items out.
  • Option 2 – Log into your Library Account with your username and password, and your library card number is under Account Settings.

Find your library card number if you don’t know your username:

  • Search your inbox for emails from sender “notices@library-arlingtonva.us.” These emails will show your card number.

If none of these options work, please contact us.

I think my Library card is expired. How do I renew it?

Published: March 26, 2020

There are two reason why your library card could be expired.

Did you apply for your library card online? If so, you received a temporary card number for your library account. Solution: Visit any open library location within 30 days with ID and proof of local address to verify your account. You will receive a plastic library card and new library card number at that time.

Have you had your Library card for over two years? Library cards are valid for a two-year period, and must be renewed in person at any open library location. Solution: Visit the library within 30 days with ID and proof of local address to verify your account. You may or may not be issued a new plastic library card and new library card number, depending on the age of your card.

If you have an issue with your account expiration please use this form to tell us about it.
